Was Bhishma ashamed of speaking of the glories and 1000 names of Shiva?
Sri Vadiraja Tirtha (of the Madhva school), in his ‘Lakshalankara’, a commentary on the Mahabharata, says that Bhishma, feeling ashamed of narrating the glories of Shiva, turned to Krishna to do the same when Yudhishthira sought to know Shiva’s glories and the 1000 names.

Why is that these people hate lord shiva. They themselves say narayana is antaryami of Shiva. The gaudiyas call Shiva jagatguru. Visnu in bagavatham says if anyone talks lowly about Shiva they will be destroyed.

The above is also present in वायुपुराणम् as well 30.268, 268th verse.

भीष्म उवाच 👆🏼 In the Same chapter from महाभारतम्।
Same thing was stated by शिवः in ईश्वरगीता & देवाः themselves have stated the same thing while praying शिवः which is present in couple of पुराणानि। Now it’s great to see the same thing in the महाभारतम् where भीष्मः himself performs the शिवस्तुतिः in the manner as aforementioned.
आदिश्चान्तश्च देवानां गायत्र्योङ्कार एव च।
हरितो रोहितो नीलः कृष्णो रक्तस्तथाऽरुणः।
कद्रुश्च कपिलश्चैव कपोतो मेचकस्तथा॥ 12-290-135 (77049)
Same chapter again.
You (शिवः) are Beginning, middle & ending of देवाः, you are ॐ (ओङ्कारः), you are गायत्री।… so on
ओनमश्शिवाय। 🙏🏼
